A new digital strategy and website to better reach and engage with people living with Diabetes.

Project Background

Diabetes NSW and ACT are a charity that help health professionals and people living with diabetes by providing information, education, events and support services.

In order to reach more people in NSW and ACT, Diabetes NSW engaged Helm to devise a new digital strategy and build a new web platform. The website needed to provide users with information and services online, enable donations, book events as well as integrate directly with their member database on Microsoft Dynamics 365.

The Solution

Helm worked with stakeholder groups and leaders within Diabetes NSW and ACT to devise a strategy to deliver the best user experience as well provide efficiencies to the organisation's own internal teams.

We ran an exhaustive requirements and user experience process to gain a deep understanding of the users that would access the site and the features required to support their needs.

The website was designed and developed over the following 8 months going live in November 2018 with Helm providing support and digital marketing services to drive awareness and traffic to the new website after launch.

Responsive Design

A visually appealing design that translates seamlessly across all device types from desktop to mobile. The new design utilised the client's existing style guide, latest design trends as well as additional innovative flairs added by our talented design team.

Event Booking Engine

Enabling users to easily find and book diabetes education events in their local area whilst integrating seamlessly with Diabetes NSW's own management platform to automate payment, ticketing and attendance numbers.

CRM Integration

Custom development using APIs to integrate the website directly with Diabetes NSW's CRM and membership database - Microsoft Dynamics 365.

This provided users with the ability to update and renew their memberships online and greatly improved internal efficiencies and reduced manual overhead with the organisation.

Donation Engine

Helm designed a new and seamless donation experience for the user that can be completed with only a few clicks.

Donations can be either one-off or made on a monthly basis and are payed and processed automatically into Diabetes NSW's CRM removing the need for manual entry and improving efficiencies.

Powerful Content Management

The website features over 3000 pages, articles and downloadable resources across multiple sections and managed by different teams within Diabetes NSW.

We built a highly customised version of Wordpress to effectively sort and manage all of this content as well as provide a bespoke publishing workflow and permissions matching the requirements of Diabetes NSW.
