Project Background
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) are the custodians of health and welfare data for all of Australia. AIHW publishes data, research and information that informs policy making, assists research and is in the national interest.
Helm was approached by AIHW to develop a digital and social media strategy for the organisation. The overarching objective of this project was to better engage with their stakeholders through their website and social media platforms and expand the audience for AIHW's data and information.

Website Design
Website Design
To improve the user experience of the website and to refresh the visual identity of the website, Helm created new website designs for the main AIHW website.
The new designs featured a new approach to the sites's UX including a new navigation making it easier for users to find the content they desire with just a few clicks.
Digital Communications Strategy
Helm developed a digital communications strategy which encompassed the creation of both website and social media content.
The strategy provided a practical framework for AIHW to create more engaging content that could resonate with a wider audience and be easily shared on social media.
Website Audit
Helm performed a deep dive into the Google Analytics account of AIHW's website portfolio to gauge the performance of the platforms and their users.
The insights gained were then used to inform the digital strategy to improve the website's content and user experience.
Social Media Policy
In opening up social media as a communications channel for the Institute and its researchers, the creation of a social media policy was required.
Helm worked with the Institute to create a policy informed by existing government best practice, existing communications guidelines and the objectives of the organisation.
